After three consecutive seasons with at least 15 starts and 115 combined tackles with Miami, Alonso took a drastic reduction in workload in his first season with New Orleans in 2019. He finished the year with a career-low 31 combined tackles and just one pass defended while failing to record an interception or a sack in just four starts. Alonso suffered a torn ACL in the 2019 playoffs, and his health is up in the air for the 2020 season. The offseason signing of Nigel Bradham is a likely indicator that Alonso may miss time or at least be limited for the coming campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Suffers third torn ACL
Alonso suffered a torn ACL for the third time in his career in Sunday's wild-card loss to the Vikings, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Alonso now has torn the ACL in his right knee twice and the one in his left knee once, dating back to his college days at Oregon. The 29-year-old served as the team's primary middle linebacker in base formations after the loss of Alex Anzalone in Week 2 to a shoulder injury and averaged 33 snaps a game over the second half of the campaign. Alonso is signed through 2020, but with a salary of $7.85 million next season, Triplett speculates the linebacker likely will have to take a pay cut to remain on the roster.
