Kapri Bibbs

An undrafted rookie out of Colorado State in 2014, Bibbs finally got his first opportunity to see NFL action last year when he ran for 129 yards (4.4 YPC) as a backup for the Broncos. A high-ankle sprain quickly ended his season just when it appeared that he was gaining ground on the struggling Devontae Booker. Bibbs faces another uphill battle with his new club where he will have to compete with a slew of backups (Tim Hightower, Joe Williams, and Raheem Mostert) for touches behind Carlos Hyde. That said, he figures to make the 53-man roster after the 49ers gave up a 2018 fourth-round draft pick to earn his rights (San Francisco also received a fifth-rounder in return).

Rookie Devontae Booker holds the best chance to shake up the top of Denver's running back stable. Bibbs might be the most likely to shake up the bottom. Bibbs has yet to record a regular season carry in his two years with the team, but has combined for 25 preseason carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns. The addition of the fullback makes it unlikely that Denver would carry more than three traditional backs and it would be difficult for Bibbs to unseat Ronnie Hillman and near impossible for him to best C.J. Anderson or Booker. Still, Kubiak has praised Bibbs during OTAs and his youth and modest contract could make him all the more attractive.

With five players ahead of him on the running back depth chart, Bibbs doesn't figure to make much of a fantasy impact this season.
