Miller (concussion) reverted to the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

ANALYSIS
Miller made an impact on special teams, forcing a DeAndre Carter fumble on a third-quarter punt return. The loose ball was recovered by Chicago's Sherrick McManis, while Miller was flagged for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on the play. The fullback later exited the game with a concussion, and he remains in league protocol upon his return to the practice squad.

Miller will be making the switch from fullback to tight end this offseason in Chip Kelly's scheme that doesn't utilize fullbacks frequently. Often considered a Swiss army knife, Miller has shown playmaking ability out of the backfield despite being targeted infrequently (10 catches for 135 yards in 2015). He lacks the height teams look for at the tight end position, but he makes up for that with his quickness and route running, which he already has been praised for by coaches during training camp. Miller will compete with Blake Bell for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart.

Miller dealt with an off-the-field issue this past offseason, but the charges were dropped and he is the favorite to start for the 49ers this year. There is an outside chance that he is cut in favor of the cheaper Trey Millard, as the 49ers are always trying to create more cap space.

After undergoing successful shoulder surgery this past off-season, Miller will return to his usual role as the 49ers' starting fullback.

Miller returns to the 49ers as the team's primary fullback and key run-blocker in the rushing attack. Outside of a handful of carries and maybe a dozen targets throughout the year, Miller doesn't add anything for fantasy purposes.

Miller will likely be the top backup at fullback.
