ANALYSIS
Doucet, who signed with the Seahawks on August 2, could catch on with another team in light of the rash of wideout injuries seen around the league this week. First he must prove his health though, as he was released with a "Failure to Disclose Physical Condition"designation.

Playing in the shadow of Larry Fitzgerald, Doucet didn’t do anything special last year on his 98 targets (7.0 YPT), but he did outperform teammate Andre Roberts, was reliable on third down and scored five touchdowns. The selection of Michael Floyd likely relegates Doucet and Roberts to smaller roles, but Doucet signed a two-year deal in March and has a better chance to secure the No. 3 receiver job, assuming Floyd takes on a starting role out of the gate. At 6-0, 212, and with average speed, Doucet is mostly a chain mover and as such lacks significant upside, especially with the bigger Fitzgerald and Floyd likely to dominate the red-zone targets.
The good news here is that Doucet saw action in a career-high number of games in 2010; the bad news is that he managed to get on the field just 10 times. When healthy, Doucet flashes the potential to be a solid NFL wideout, averaging 11.2 yards per catch on 26 receptions in 2010. With Steve Breaston off to Kansas City, an injury-free Doucet would have an opportunity to prove his worth in the desert, but he'll have to manage to stay healthy long enough for that to happen first. Keep him off your fantasy radar screens until he demonstrates some consistency.
In addition to playing well in the playoffs -- 14 catches, 145 yards and two TD -- Doucet has been busy during the offseason working on his conditioning, improving his route running and studying film, and he appears poised to seize the opportunity for a larger role in the receiving corps following the trade of Anquan Boldin to Baltimore. Steve Breaston may be the default No. 2 receiver behind Larry Fitzgerald right now, but there are plenty of similarities between Boldin and Doucet, so it wouldn't be all that surprising to see Doucet ascend into a starting role at some point in 2010.
Doucet and Jerheme Urban will compete for the Cardinals’ No. 4 receiver position during training camp. Doucet performed well during OTAs -- he received expanded playing time because starter Anquan Boldin skipped the sessions due to a contract dispute, although Boldin is expected to report to training camp on time -- and he seems to have a slight lead over Urban heading into the summer. Even in an offense that throws the ball a lot (a league-high 66 percent of the time last regular season), Doucet’s role should be limited as long as the players ahead of him stay healthy. If Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald or Steve Breaston gets hurt, then Doucet will be a much more interesting option.
Doucet will battle for Arizona's No. 3 receiver position during training camp. If he wins the role, he will be a decent sleeper because the Cardinals throw the ball a lot and opposing teams dedicate a lot of attention to Arizona's two starting wideouts. Doucet is very fast but a little undersized.
