Robinson signed with the Seahawks on Tuesday, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
ANALYSIS
Robinson was signed after Seattle lost starting fullback Derrick Coleman to a hamstring injury, a setback that will likely sideline him for multiple weeks. Because of his familiarity with the system, and with Spencer Ware injured, Robinson has a good chance to be part of the Seahawks' starting backfield in Week 8.

With the addition of Anthony Dixon, Robinson moves even further down the depth chart at running back, as he was already behind Frank Gore and Glen Coffee. However, he'll likely make the team due to his outstanding work on special teams.
Robinson will see most of his action on special teams while being used sparingly on offense as the 49ers' third running back.
Robinson is expected to primarily used as a third down back and provides little fantasy value.
Robinson will compete against Maurice Hicks and rookie Thomas Clayton to be Frank Gore's backup. Robinson struggled as a short-yardage back last year, and also with developing running back instincts in reading blocks and exploding through holes while they are open after spending his college career at quarterback. Robinson should be better this year as he gains more experience in the role.
Selected by SF in the fourth round if the 2004 draft and making the conversion from QB to RB. The 49ers plan to take advantage of the multiple options - run/catch/pass - that Robinson provides, which may mean that he will be on the field, as either a tailback, F-back or lined up wide, more than originally anticipated.
