Babineaux, the second oldest member of the Falcons trailing only Matt Bryant, isn't projected to start on the defensive line, but he should see increased work in Dan Quinn's new scheme. He should get more pass-rushing opportunities in 2015, and don't be surprised if he improves his sack total from last season, when he only got to the quarterback twice.
Babineaux will start at right defensive end for the Falcons in 2014. He's coming off a year where he made 44 total tackles, but he only recorded one sack. He's more valuable in real life than he is in most fantasy formats.
Babineaux is expected to start at left defensive tackle for the Falcons in 2013. He only racked up 31 tackles in 2012 despite playing in all 16 games, so his value is much more slated to the real world than the fantasy world.
Babineaux will once again anchor the middle of the Falcons' front four. Expect 25-40 tackles and a few sacks out of him this season.
Babineaux will once again start at defensive tackle for the Falcons this season. The seven-year veteran will pair up with Corey Peters to hold down the center of the D-line in 2011. Babs should see an increase in tackles (career low 27 in 2010), and should be right around four sacks again this season.
Babineaux had six sacks and 37 tackles in 2009 and was the best player on the Falcons' defensive line that was beset by injuries. He'll likely be suspended for a few games following his violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy so his value in 2010 already has taken a hit.
Babineaux is a reliable tackle that can stuff the run and put forth a decent pass rush, but much of his 2009 campaign will involve matching his game with the strengths and weaknesses of first-round draft choice Jerry Peria. Expect another season of 35-40 tackles.
Babineaux notched career-highs in tackles (45) and sacks (three) in 2007, and will compete for the starting tackle job with Kindal Moorehead in 2008. He's a tad undersized to be a formidable run stopper, but he continues to improve each season.
When Rod Coleman and Grady Jackson are the two defensive tackles listed in front of you, it's going to be tough to break into the starting lineup. Coleman is one of the better defensive tackles in the league and Jackson commands two blockers on most plays. However, both players might not be available for the beginning of the regular season, potentially opening the door for Babineaux at least for a couple weeks. Jackson will start when he returns, but his size also means that he must be subbed out on passing downs, guaranteeing Babineaux a few snaps each game. He is a little undersized for a defensive tackle, but that also allows him to take some snaps at defensive end. Babineaux has played in all 16 games in each of his two NFL seasons; so his durability and versatility, as well as Jackson's fitness, should definitely get him some steady playing time in his reserve role.
Will provide depth on the Falcons' defensive line.
