Rest-of-Season Projections
Everett, who suffered a career-ending cervical spinal cord injury last season, will be placed on the waived/failed physical list by the Bills Tuesday, according to The Buffalo News.
ANALYSIS
This will actually help the recovering Everett, as he can now pursue benefits that will ensure his financial stability. Everett received his full base salary of $435,000 last season. That gave him three credited seasons, which qualifies him for a full NFL pension. Everett still has a long way to go in his rehab, but he is now walking on his own.

2004
After a disappointing 2005 rookie season which was lost to injury, and a one-catch year in 2006, Everett feels primed to actually matter in 2007. He looked great in spring workouts and will probably work his way into a role in the offense, but the Bills have enough other tight ends -- with Robert Royal being a pretty clear starter -- that the upside appears to be 15-30 catches and some modest red-zone looks. He does have some long-term, upside, however, for another year or two down the road.
