ANALYSIS
Hood, who missed the entire 2010 season due to a severe knee injury, was slow to get up to speed in 2011. He did begin to contribute down the stretch but it's doubtful the club will bring him back as the bulk of their starters will be returning from injury by training camp.

Hood was supposed to battle for a starting cornerback position in 2010, but a knee injury in May will keep him out for the year on the injured reserve list.
He is looking to take over a starting spot from either Brandon McDonald or Eric Wright who were less than impressive during the 2008 season.
Hood will engage in a three-way training camp battle for two starting roles. He made five interceptions last season (three in December) and scored two touchdowns, which should help his case. Hood, however, committed numerous pass interference penalties and was part of one of the league's worst pass defenses, so he has some hurdles to overcome.
Hood and Eric Green will battle for a starting cornerback position during training camp, with the loser expected to serve as Arizona's nickelback. There's a good chance that Arizona will employ a revolving door at cornerback for the second straight season. Hood factors into that mix and is among the candidates to return punts and kickoffs.
Veteran will provide depth to the secondary and serve as the team's nickelback in those packages.
Hood will serve as a backup cornerback and nickel back for Jim Johnson's defense in 2004.
