Before tearing his ACL in Week Seven, Evans was a touchdown vulture, scoring three times in the first six games despite only a handful of touches. Healthy again, the versatile Evans will look to resume his role at starting fullback and may be fantasy-relevant again in touchdown-only leagues.
With the departure of Mike Karney, Evans enters the year as the starting fullback in New Orleans. Evans provides the Saints with a significantly more versatile athlete from the fullback position, as he has proven in the past that he is both a capable runner and receiver. Despite this, the Saints do not see Evans as the answer to their short-yardage woes. Evans can be counted on for a few touches in a variety of ways, and possibly even a couple of touchdowns, but will not be a major contributor on offense.
Evans was used in close by the Pats at times last season, but hardly exclusively, which limited his fantasy value. His blocking and versatility are what continue to give him unsung value to the team.
Evans won't be much of a fantasy factor, barring a slew of injuries to the Pats' backfield, but he is valuable to the team with his ability to contribute in a variety of roles, ranging from lead blocker, to ball carrier, to reserve third-down running back.
Evans is not starting running back material, but proved that he is a capable backup who can perform solidly when called upon, as was the case last season when the team's ball-carriers were hit by injuries. With the Patriots drafting of fullback Garrett Mills however, Evans will likely be battling fellow FB/RB type Patrick Pass for the final spot in the Pats' backfield.
Evans is not an offensive-minded fullback and his role will not change from that of a blocking back despite his new uniform. Evans should not be considered a fantasy worthy FB/RB.
Evans is a quality backup who probably could start on other teams, but with Seattle he'll back up Mack Strong. Evans, of course, has no fantasy value and he'll get few opportunities as the Seahawks are deep at fullback.
Evans will back up Mack Strong at fullback. He's a good blocker and can catch.
