La'Roi Glover

The grizzled veteran is almost assured of starting at defensive tackle now that Jimmy Kennedy has been traded. However, 2nd year powerhouse Claude Wroten could push Glover into a back-up role.

The Rams are praying Glover still has something left in the tank and all signs are currently pointing to a definite yes. He'll start alongside 3rd year tackle Jimmy Kennedy and should help give the Rams the toughness and attitude up front that they've lacked for some time.

Glover is still a perennial Pro Bowl lineman, but the signing of Jason Ferguson and the switch to the 3-4 defense have left him without a starting spot. Expect him to be a force when he does play, and for him to be in a different uniform in 2006.

Glover's sacks have gone from nine to six-and-a-half to five over the last few years. Marcellus Wiley was imported to revive the Cowboys pass rush, so Glover might be able to reverse that trend.

Glover, who racked up 17 sacks two seasons ago with the Saints, managed 6.5 from the defensive tackle spot in his first season with the Cowboys a year ago. With Greg Ellis and Ebenezer Ekuban getting pressure on the ends, new head coach Bill Parcells likely to install an aggressive defensive scheme, and an improved secondary, forcing quarterbacks to hold onto the ball, Glover could approach 10 sacks in 2003 while putting up good tackle numbers.
