Dayne is scheduled to visit the Titans on Thursday, the Tennessean reports.
ANALYSIS
The free agent is expected to undergo a physical and work out for team officials. The Titans declined to comment. The Titans seem stocked at running back. LenDale White rushed for 1,110 yards last season, and the Titans used their first-round pick this year on East Carolina's Chris Johnson. Chris Henry, a second-round pick last year, also returns. "What they said to me was LenDale is coming off a knee injury, so that is maybe a concern of theirs. Ron has proven he can play through whatever,'' agent Karim Lawrence said. Dayne rushed for 773 yards and six touchdowns last season in 13 games for the Texans.

Dayne ended 2006 as Houston’s starter, highlighted by a Week 16 effort that saw him run for 153 yards and two scores, winning many fantasy leagues in the process. Ahman Green was brought aboard in Houston, making Dayne the backup. Since he led the league in fewest “stuffs” per carry last season, he could serve as the team’s goal-line back.
Dayne came on strong late in 2005, so much so, in fact, that he has been on top of the Broncos' depth chart all summer long. That said, however, Tatum Bell is a very talented back as well, and the two should had an interesting battle in training camp. Dayne was eventually released and re-surfaced with the Texans. His punishing running style could be favored over Wali Lundy's or Vernand Morency's more shifty and elusive style in the red zone, possibly leading to fewer yards but more scores for Dayne.
Dayne, who signed a one-year contract this offseason, has his work cut out for him. He's been impressive in offseason workouts and during the early stages of training camp so he could make the final roster. He'll provide the team experience and depth at running back if he survives the final cuts.
Left for dead in 2003, Dayne should get an opportunity to earn a role in the offense during training camp. Dayne has been working hard since January to get into peak shape, and there's a chance that he could share carries with Tiki Barber, or at the very least, be the Giants' short-yardage and goal line back.
Dayne enters 2003 with not only Tiki Barber standing in between him and regular carries, but also the newly signed Dorsey Levens. Moreoever, Levens may also assume most of Dayne's valuable goal line carries. At this point, barring an injury to Barber or a trade, it looks like Dayne won't have a lot of fantasy value this season.
