Darius Jackson

Jackson has bounced around since being drafted, spending time in both Cleveland and Green Bay, but he always seems to end up back with the Cowboys club that selected him in the sixth round of the 2016 draft. He only has six NFL carries to show for his odyssey, but he'll head into this season with his best chance yet for consistent work, as Dallas lacks an established backup to Ezekiel Elliott, who is holding out for a new contract. The competition consists of Alfred Morris as well as rookies Tony Pollard and Mike Weber.

A sixth-round pick out of Eastern Michigan, Jackson is a fearsome athletic specimen with an intriguing highlight reel who drew little attention in his senior year playing for a small school with a poor offense. Given that the Cowboys also selected Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth overall pick and established veterans Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris are around to provide depth, there wouldn't seem to be room for Jackson too, but if he can make a contribution on special teams he could still stake a claim to a roster spot. Beyond that, though, it would take some injuries for him to see significant snaps on offense.
