Karachi Kings vs. Lahore Qalanders: Fifth Match Preview

Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars had contrasting fortunes in the opening match of their tournament. While Lahore lost to Islamabad on the opener, Karachi edged out Multan Sultans courtesy a fiery opening stand. The strength of both teams is their impeccable batting line-up. If Lahore have AB de Villiers, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez in their ranks, Karachi have Babar Azam, Liam Livingstone, Colin Ingram and Sikander Raza. The bowlers will have a hard time on Saturday but expect a very even contest on a batting strip.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Brendan Taylor (8.5 credits)

The Zimbabwean is a key figure in the Lahore Qalandars outfit and is a likely batsman in the top four of the batting line-up unlike his opposite number, Mohammad Rizwan. An accumulator and a terrific striker of the ball, Taylor can change the course of the game once he hits his purple patch which is almost always around the corner.

Batsman: AB de Villiers (10.5 credits)

The South African started off with a bang in the first match of the tournament but fell before he could convert it into something more substantial. Expect him to go hammer and tongs on a good batting surface against a very ordinary bowling attack. Imad Wasim would be his biggest threat but given the form AB is in, expect him to make it big.

All-rounder: Liam Livingstone (8.5 credits)

Livingstone kick-started his tournament in style with a 43-ball 82, lambasting some quality bowlers around with utter disdain. A fabulous striker

Bowler: Shaheen Shah Afridi (9 credits)

Shaheen had an off-day in the tournament opener but a terrific fast bowler with proven credentials in International cricket, expect Shaheen to come roaring back in a format he thrives in. He is up against a quality batting line-up, though, and will have his task cut out against Babar Azam and co.

Captain: Babar Azam

Vice-captain: AB de Villiers
