India vs. Australia: Second T20I Preview

India vs. Australia: Second T20I Preview

After a thriller at Vizag saw Australia pip India by three wickets, the action shifts to Bengaluru, a ground famous for big scored and short boundaries. The bowlers had a field day at Vizag on a sluggish wicket but their task would be cut out at Bengaluru where batsmen could rule the roost.

Australia might ponder giving Pat Cummins some time off and might blood Kane Richardson instead. They are, otherwise, expected to be unchanged. India, on the other hand, could give Rohit Sharma a breather with Shikhar Dhawan returning to the playing XI while Umesh Yadav, the villain at Vizag, could miss out for Siddharth Kaul. Vijay Shankar might also come in for Dinesh Karthik.

Conditions: Help for seamers early on. Short boundaries make six hitting easier.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Peter Handscomb (8 credits)

Handscomb made his debut in T20Is at Vizag but was left fuming as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him in the penultimate over of the run chase. The Australian is a fine player of spin and warrants a place higher up the batting order. He could be seen at No. 4 in Bengaluru and is a handy pick in your fantasy team.

Batsman: Virat Kohli (10.5 credits)

Kohli has been off T20Is for a while and has gone down in his rankings. The Indian skipper looked in spectacular touch at Vizag but threw it down the drain with an ill-timed shot off Zampa. He might want to make amends at Bengaluru and the surface, well-known to him

Kohli has been off T20Is for a while and has gone down in his rankings. The Indian skipper looked in spectacular touch at Vizag but threw it down the drain with an ill-timed shot off Zampa. He might want to make amends at Bengaluru and the surface, well-known to him having played for RCB in the IPL for a decade, will suit Kohli's taste. Expect a special knock from the No. 3 batsman.

All-rounder: Glenn Maxwell (9 credits)

Maxwell loves the ball coming onto the bat and made merry at Vizag in a difficult surface. He appears all set to own the Indians at Chinnaswamy and we could be in for a special innings from the Big Show. The all-rounder could also get some workout with the ball and is a great pick in your fantasy team.

Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah (9.5 credits)

Bumrah showed why he is such a highly rated seamer in T20Is when he bowled a terrific spell for India at Vizag. With the short boundaries at Bengaluru, batsmen could look to take him on but the T20 specialist that he is, Bumrah is likely to emerge on top in this battle. Back him in your team.

Captain: Virat Kohli

Vice-captain: KL Rahul
