Afghanistan vs. West Indies: Second T20I Preview

Afghanistan vs. West Indies: Second T20I Preview

Match Details:

Series: Afghanistan vs West Indies

Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

Date: November 16, 2019

Time: 7:00 p.m. IST

Match Preview:

After beating Afghanistan by a comprehensive margin of 30 runs in the first T20I, West Indies will look to seal the series when they lock horns with them once again in the second match of the series. The Caribbean team has hardly put a foot wring in this tour. They whitewashed the Afghans in the ODI series and will be one step closer to doing that in the T20I series if they win the upcoming match as well.

Although the Afghan bowlers did a decent job in the first match, their batsmen seemed no match for handling the West Indies bowlers. Rashid Khan's middling form with the ball has been a cause of concern for them as well and Mohammad Nabi hasn't justified his reputation either. West Indies, on the other hand, have had contributions from most of their players at some point of their tour and that has been the main reason behind their success.

Weather Conditions:

The weather forecast is good for this game with no chance of rain. The temperature is expected to be in the low 20s as well but humidity will be pretty high.

Pitch Report:

As seen in the first match, the pitch will have something for both batsmen and bowlers. Spinners and pacers who have good variations will be successful on this track. Batsmen

Pitch Report:

As seen in the first match, the pitch will have something for both batsmen and bowlers. Spinners and pacers who have good variations will be successful on this track. Batsmen will need to spend a little bit of time on this pitch.

Probable Playing XI:

Afghanistan: Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz(w), Ibrahim Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan(c), Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Karim Janat

West Indies: Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Denesh Ramdin (w), Kieron Pollard (c), Sherfane Rutherford, Fabian Allen, Jason Holder, Hayden Walsh, Kesrick Williams, Sheldon Cottrell

Top Picks:

Kieron Pollard: The West Indian skipper scored an unbeaten 32 and also picked up two wickets in the first match. We can expect similar all-round brilliance from him in this match as well.

Evin Lewis: The left-handed opener scored 68 runs in the first match. He has a very good T20I record for West Indies and is unarguably their best batsman.

Kesrick Williams: The right-arm medium pacer is back at his lethal best again. He picked up three wickets in ten first match and was he pick of the bowlers for West Indies once again.

Captaincy Options (In order of priority): Kieron Pollard, Kesrick Williams
