The Monkeys have a stellar offense, but their pitching has been subpar – that was noticeable in their loss on the second half opener against the Guardians. Fubon got off to a good start in the second half of the campaign, but they are a rebuilding club and, realistically, do not have much of a chance to compete for a playoff berth. The pitching matchup in the second game of the series will feature two foreign arms, as Ryan Carpenter will get the start for Rakuten while Henry Sosa will do it for the Guardians. Carpenter has gone 2-0 with a 5.01 ERA against Fubon in 2020, while Sosa has delivered a 2-1 mark with a 5.87 ERA in five previous starts against the Monkeys.

Chen Chen-Wei, Monkeys: Chen went 2-for-6 with two runs scored and two stolen bases, and he has shown time and time again that he's more than able to do damage with both his legs and his bat.
