While the Guardians have gone 4-1 in their last five contests, the Lions are dead last in the standings after winning just two of their last five games. Chiang Cheng-Yen returns to the mound for the Lions, making his first start since mid-May – he went five innings and gave up six runs in that one but still grabbed the win against the red-hot Monkeys. Chiang will now try to lead the Lions to a win against the inconsistent Guardians, a team that will send Mike Loree Jr. to the mound. Loree is coming off an excellent performance in which he recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed just two runs in seven innings of work against the Monkeys.
