Gillison saw limited action at tight end behind Connor Heyward, Tyler Hunt and Maliq Carr in 2021, and even with Heyward headed for the professional ranks, Gillison's outlook for playing time was unlikely to dramatically improve had he stuck around in East Lansing. He'll take two years of eligibility with him to Youngstown State after totaling 18 receptions for 201 yards over his four seasons at Michigan State.
