Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2013
2012
It wasn't long ago that Durham and Dri Archer formed one of the most intimidating running back duos in the country, with Durham bulldozing his way for 1,316 yards and 14 touchdowns while Archer scorched Kent State's opponents for 1,429 yards (9.0 YPC) and 16 touchdowns during the 2012 season. It all smouldered in 2013, though, as the duo combined for just 1,293 yards and 12 touchdowns -- a figure short of either player's single-handed production of the prior year. Archer is off to the NFL, in any case, and Durham will likely have a significantly bigger workload in 2014 as a result. With that bigger workload comes significant bounce-back potential, as the 248-pound bruiser could exceed 20 carries per game more than a few times in 2014.
Durham was one of the nation's most reliable running backs in 2012, scoring or going over the 100-yard mark on the ground in 10 games. The bruising runner should once again be very active in 2013, and he's a reliable bet to hit double-digit touchdowns after scoring 14 times last year. Some regression should be expected in his numbers, however, because fellow star runner Dri Archer might earn a bigger workload after a sensational 2012, and Kent State lost most of its offensive line, including third-round NFL draft pick Brian Winters at left tackle.
Durhan returns as the Golden Flashes' leading rusher from 2011, when he ran for 630 yards, but averaged only 3.4 yards per carry. His 187 carries were 113 more than anyone else on the team. Durham's job looks safe for now, but 5-foot-7 Dri Archer will provide a speed element that Durham can't imitate at around 260 pounds. Still, Archer is likely too small to threaten Durham's role as the lead runner for Kent State, making him a must-draft in MAC-only leagues and someone to monitor outside of them.
