Done with football
Johnson has decided to call it a career from a football standpoint, Jared Peck of the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson will reportedly undergo surgery on both of his shoulders and his left knee and said he is "completely done with football." He may have been hard pressed to find a gig in the NFL, but any notion of that can now be disregarded at this point. During his two seasons under center for the Wildcats, Johnson generated 4,341 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions while adding 200 carries for 702 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Johnson took the starting job from incumbent Drew Barker rather quickly last season, and though there were some growing pains, Johnson led the Wildcats to their first bowl game since 2011. The Wildcats reeled off wins in five of their last seven games of the regular season under the direction of Johnson, including a dynamic 41-38 win over Louisville and future Heisman winner Lamar Jackson in the finale. The JUCO transfer passed for 338 yards and three touchdowns while also showing off his wheels with 83 yards on eight rushes. Johnson should be able to lean on a stellar running game with Benny Snell as well as an experienced group of wide receivers in 2017.
