Past Fantasy Outlooks

2010
Boykin was quite productive in 2012, running for 445 yards (6.0 YPC) and four touchdowns in seven games before injury struck. Boykin's bruising running style is a nice complement to Blankenship for Ohio and, while Boykin won't be displacing Blankenship in the starting lineup, he does have MAC-only value when healthy.
Boykin finished last year with just 430 yards and one touchdown (4.1 YPC), but he's set to receive a significant promotion now that Ohio will be without 2011 leading rusher Donte Harden. Harden had 188 carries in 2011, meaning Boykin could make a push for the 200-carry mark, a scenario in which he would be quite valuable in MAC-only leagues, as well as a player worth monitoring in other deep formats. He will split carries with Beau Blankenship, but Boykin had more carries last year and could have an advantage over Blankenship in the running back rotation.
Boykin probably won't do anything in 2010, but the new recruit has a chance to see the field because Ohio's other running backs aren't effective. Unfortunately, the odds are that the same will be the case with Boykin, because there doesn't seem to be much running room on the offense.
