ANALYSIS
Neal finished the regular season decently, passing for 318 yards and three touchdowns over the final two games for the Commodores. Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2016
Neal is a graduate transfer from Ball State who is competing with Deuce Wallace and Mo Hasan for the starting quarterback job due to the departure of Kyle Shurmur. Neal threw for 1,917 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games before suffering a leg injury that prematurely ended his 2018 campaign. Neal also rushed for 357 yards and five scores, flashing his dual-threat ability. He has the size, poise and experience to start for the Commodores, but will still likely have to win the job in fall camp.
Neal is competing with Jack Milas to start at quarterback for Ball State, though Neal is the favorite heading into the fall. Neal showed a dual-threat skill set as a freshman starter last year, running for 399 yards and two touchdown (4.5 YPC) while throwing for 2,276 yards (5.8 YPA), 16 touchdowns and six interceptions. Obviously, the passing efficiency was dreadful, but Neal acquitted himself well given his lack of experience, and his dual-threat background gives him upside if he should progress as a passer.
