Past Fantasy Outlooks

2012
Listed at 6-0, 180, Greene looks like a copy of Marvin Harrison. He's a precise route runner, able to mislead defenders and use his standout stop/start and change-of-direction skills to consistently create separation. He also possesses excellent vision as a runner, making him dangerous after the catch. He caught 76 passes last year – 22 more than the next closest Seminoles pass catcher – totaling 1,128 yards (14.8 YPC) and nine touchdowns. With Kelvin Benjamin and Kenny Shaw – who combined for 108 receptions, 1,944 yards and 21 touchdowns last year – off to the NFL, Greene should see his workload increase significantly this season.
Greene’s 2012 season got off to a terribly slow start, but he closed with a fury and finished the year with 741 yards and six scores on 57 catches. After a stellar freshman season in 2011, Greene was much hyped heading in to last year, and because the results didn’t quite match the hype, his owners from 2012 probably have a bad taste in their mouth. For that reason, he’s going to provide value in 2013. Greene’s relative lack of production is a simple product of tremendous wide receiver depth. That depth has dissipated some, and it would be surprising if Greene didn’t build on last season’s totals.
If Greene hadn’t suffered a concussion in the middle of his true freshman season last year, he might be enjoying as much hype as the top-ranked receivers. Greene was immensely productive last year, totaling 26 receptions for 457 yards and six touchdowns in five games before the injury struck. He wasn’t the same after the injury, but his strong finish (five catches for 99 yards and a touchdown) in Florida State’s narrow bowl game victory was proof that he’ll be back in 2012.
