Set to turn pro
Ramsey announced Friday via his personal Instagram account that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at Northwestern to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
After arriving at Northwestern in the summer as a graduate transfer from Indiana, Ramsey emerged from training camp as the team's starting quarterback and enjoyed a strong campaign. He capped off the 2020 season with his best performance of the season in Northwestern's 35-19 win over Auburn in the Citrus Bowl, completing 24 of 35 attempts for 291 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 50 yards and a score. Hunter Johnson and Andrew Marty are the most likely successors for Ramsey heading into 2021, but expect Northwestern to explore the transfer market as it looks for further reinforcement under center.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Ramsey flirted with the starting role throughout the 2017 season, ultimately appearing in eight of the team's 13 games. After a strong debut as a starter to the tune of 16-for-20 for 173 yards and two touchdowns, plus 12 carries for 32 yards and a score, Ramsey posted mixed results the rest of the way. He finished the season with an impressive 65.4 completion percentage for 1,252 yards and a 10:5 TD:INT ratio, entering the offseason as the odds on favorite to start under center for the Hoosiers following Richard Lagow's graduation. Enter Brandon Dawkins. The fifth-year senior left Arizona following the 2017 season after losing his starting job to Khalil Tate and will challenge Ramsey this fall. While Ramsey will have the advantage of a season in Kevin Wilson's system, Dawkins -- who may be the favorite to win the job -- has more experience under center. Even if Ramsey ultimately earns the starting nod, he also loses two of the top three pass catchers from a season ago, two NFL-bound players in Simmie Cobbs and Ian Thomas.
