Richardson will declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Richardson was highly productive at Colorado despite dealing with awful quarterback play the entirety of his time with the Buffaloes, highlighted by a 2013 season in which he caught 83 passes for 1,343 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games. Richardson might be a bit like Chris Givens in that his skill set primarily translates to that of a deep-route specialist in the NFL -- he's far too skinny at around 6-foot, 170 pounds to project as an over-the-middle wideout, and he doesn't look especially explosive running through traffic, but Richardson has a lot of downfield speed and appears to have a pretty big wingspan, which grants him a sizable catch radius. His body control is less consistent than you'd like to see from a deep-route and sideline specialist, though, and he can't block. He was initially a UCLA commit, but he was kicked off the team after he was arrested on suspicion of felony theft in June of 2010, so teams will give his character background a second glance. He also missed four games in 2011 with a knee injury and missed all of the 2012 season due to a spring practice ACL tear, so there are injury concerns. In what could be a deep wideout class, Richardson isn't a lock to be one of the first 15 selected, so we suspect he's looking at the fourth round, or maybe the late third.

Richardson is a top talent who falls this far on the list solely due to the circumstances around him. He suffered an ACL tear in the spring of 2012 that knocked him out for the rest of the season, and he plays for a team that quite simply doesn't seem to have any quarterback talent. With a little help and a little luck, though, Richardson can possess a lot of upside. He burned opponents for 474 yards and five touchdowns in the first five weeks of 2011.
