Benched against Toledo
Hatcher won't start at quarterback for Ball State when they take on Toledo, Gus Martin of The Star Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Hatcher appears to have lost his job to Kiael Kelly, at least for the time being. On the season, Hatcher had thrown for 566 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 65.3 percent of his passes. Still, he's been supplanted as the starter, as Toledo will roll with Kelly as well as a reportedly RPO-focused offensive scheme.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
After a tumultuous time at Arkansas State in which he split time with both Logan Bonner and James Blackman behind a horrific offensive line, Hatcher has moved west to join Jake Spavital and the Texas State Bobcats for 2022. While he does bring with him some stellar numbers from his time in Jonesboro (7,427 yards, 65 touchdowns, 25 interceptions in three seasons), the starting job might not automatically be his. While NC State transfer Ty Evans figures to be in the mix, it does feel like Hatcher is the much safer option, and he’ll surely elevate a passing game that was adequate at best in 2021. He won’t be doing it alone either, as senior receivers Marcell Barbee and Javen Banks are both back to help ease the onboarding process. In case you were wondering, the Bobcats will host Hatcher’s former school on Nov. 19.
