Receives indefinite suspension
Western Michigan has suspended Jefferson indefinitely for a violation of team rules, Patrick Nothaft of MLive reports.
ANALYSIS
Regarding Jefferson's suspension, head coach Tim Lester said "He's been suspended indefinitely from our team for an off the field issue for a violation of team rules, and that's all I'm going to say about that now," per Nothaft. While the senior RB remains sidelined, Sean Tyler and Zahir Abdus-Salaam are slated to handle most of the Broncos' backfield reps.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Jefferson should be considered the Broncos’ primary tailback going into 2022. Last season, he paced the team in carries with 185, and totalled 836 yards and ten touchdowns. However, he’s more of the thunder to backfield mate Sean Tyler’s lightning, who racked up 1,150 yards and nine touchdowns on seven fewer carries. Jefferson lacks the explosiveness of Tyler, as his longest run was a mere 26 yards. At 6’1’’ and 235 pounds, expect Jefferson to get carries in short yardage situations while the slimmer Tyler (5’8’’, 185 pounds) will be used as more of a scatback. Don’t expect Tyler to run Jefferson off the field due to his breakaway speed, though, as he simply doesn’t have the kind of build to be a workhorse runner. As Western Michigan breaks in a new starting quarterback, all signs point to Jefferson being able to replicate or improve on the season he put forward in 2021.
