At 6-2, 216, Williams proved both a big-play and a red-zone threat as a sophomore last year, catching 72 passes for 1,050 yards (14.6 YPC) and 10 touchdowns, even though the now-departed Willie Snead and Jamill Smith combined for 173 catches, 2,427 yards and 23 touchdowns. The Cardinals, though, have uncertainty at quarterback this season after losing Keith Wenning to the NFL. As the No. 1 receiver, Williams would have posted big numbers with Wenning, but now he will have to hope that the drop-off in quarterback play will be offset by an increase in targets, as Ball State lacks competition at receiver.
