Whitehead had been limited during Pitt's games to this point of the series, only gathering a combined three carries in the two games he had played. He had a strong showing Saturday however, leading the team in every rushing stat while he outperformed leading rusher Qadree Ollison. Time will tell if this is the start of a new role for Whitehead, but he is second on the team in rushing with 132 yards despite being fifth in carries, so an uptick in usage should hardly come as a surprise. His first chance to see more action will come Saturday against NC State.
