Enters NFL draft
Scarlett announced on his personal twitter account Wednesday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
The redshirt junior finished the season strong, but as a whole, he saw diminished production from his breakout 2016 season. In 2018, he tallied 776 rushing yards and five touchdowns, as opposed to the 889 yards and six touchdowns he posted a couple years before. Scarlett's power running style does make him a decent NFL Draft prospect, though his limited experience catching passes out of the backfield and his 2017 season-long suspension could drop him down draft boards come April.

2016
Scarlett scored in six-straight games to begin the 2016 campaign, but tailed off towards the end of the season. Still, he averaged five yards per carry and crossed the 100-yard mark three times in SEC play, including at LSU. The Gators also return most of their offensive line, which should only serve to aid Scarlett. It remains to be seen who will line up under center for Florida when the season begins, meaning that the Gators should still rely heavily on their running game. The presence of the dynamic Lamical Perine could cut into Scarlett's touches a bit, though Scarlett should remain the focal point of the Florida rushing attack and is a great bet to cross the 1,000-yard mark as a junior.
