Tops 100 yards on Gamecocks
Ellis ran a season-high 26 times for 106 yards and a touchdown Saturday against South Carolina in the Belk Bowl.
ANALYSIS
Ellis topped 100 yards for the fourth time all season, and just the second time since Week 3. He closes his senior season with an identical 215 carries to a year prior, but went for 190 more yards and four more scores than he did in 2017. His graduation will leave a big hole in the Cavaliers attack next season, one that is likely to be filled more by a committee, though P.K. Kier seems likely to get a chance a lead back duties.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Ellis will look to build off a successful 2017 season when he rushed for 838 yards and six scores (3.9 YPC) and hauled in 22 grabs for 137 yards. His rushing totals during his junior campaign were certainly diminished by the fact that the Cavaliers were constantly playing from behind, which is a major concern heading into the upcoming season. Virginia figures to lean on Ellis out of the backfield as it doesn’t have a lot of experience beyond the senior tailback. Chris Sharp is currently listed behind Ellis on the depth chart, although he rushed just 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown last year. It could be tough to regularly rely on Ellis from a fantasy perspective, given a stagnant offense that rushed for a mere 93.7 yards per game last year, ranked 126th in FBS. If transfer quarterback Bryce Perkins is as-advertised, however, the offense should open up and allow Ellis to see better running lanes.
