In 2012, the Golden Hurricane ranked ninth in the nation in rushing, averaging just over 245 yards per game. Senior Alex Singleton’s 24 rushing touchdowns were good for second in the nation, and the team will look to the combination of Douglas (936 yards, 7 touchdowns) and Trey Watts (1,108 yards, 3 touchdowns) to compensate for his loss of production. Both Douglas and Watts boasted significantly higher yard per carry averages than Singleton in 2012, but the senior typically received the majority of the carries near the goal line. Look for Douglas to approach 1,000 yards and increase his touchdown numbers in 2013.
