Strong showing in final game
November 30, 2016
Yancey caught six of seven targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's loss to Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Although Yancey had only one more reception than he did a year ago, he increased his yardage total by 251 and doubled his touchdown count up to 10 in 2016. He led the Big Ten in yards per reception with a 19.41 mark and his 10 touchdowns rank second behind Northwestern's Austin Carr. Purdue's poor overall play on the field in 2016 should not diminish Yancey's strong final season as a Boilermaker.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Yancey had a big bounceback year in 2015 with 48 grabs for 700 yards and five scores to pace the Boilermaker receiving corps. There is room for improvement, however, as Yancey was extremely inefficient on a per-target basis as his 48 catches came on 98 passes thrown his way for a 49 percent catch rate. Part of that can be explained away by shoddy quarterback play from Austin Appleby and redshirt freshman David Blough. Purdue’s offense will be under new leadership with Terry Malone at the helm, but he himself stated that there won’t be much change to the system save for trying to play at a more uptempo pace. Yancey will be the undoubted No. 1 option in the passing game, but his production hinges on Blough’s ability to get the ball to him and Blough himself completed just 57.7 percent of his passes. Blough figures to take a step forward in his second year as a starter, and Yancey be a beneficiary of that, but the onus will be on him to be more reliable when the ball is thrown his way.
