Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2015
2014
2013
Widely projected as a top-3 fantasy back heading into the 2015 season, Clement (5-11, 219) presents a clear buy-low opportunity with top-5 fantasy upside at the position. A sports hernia and disciplinary issues conspired to wreck what was supposed to be a Heisman-contending showcase for NFL scouts in 2015, and Clement ended the year with just 221 yards (4.6 YPC) and five touchdowns in four games. With health on his side and a clean slate heading into 2016, a 20-touchdown season could be within reach for Clement.
Clement, 5-11, 217, takes over a Wisconsin RB role that annually produces one of the nation's most productive runners. Clement is more talented than the average Wisconsin running back, though, so he could post huge numbers this year. He has 1,496 yards (7.0 YPC) and 16 touchdowns on the ground in two years, and on just 214 carries. He's more likely to see 250 rushes this year, which should ensure increased production. Clement isn't ranked higher because his quarterbacks are bad, and Alabama could shut down Wisconsin's offense in Week 1.
Melvin Gordon gets all the hype, but Clement might be just as good. Like Gordon and James White last year, Gordon and Clement will pair this year to make a dominant tandem in the Wisconsin backfield. While Gordon offers unparalleled big-play upside, Clement brings a more bruising element. Clement's bigger build (5-11, 210) could allow him to emerge as Wisconsin's primary short-yardage and goal-line back, giving him a chance to outproduce Gordon in fantasy terms. Clement, who ran for 547 yards and seven touchdowns on just 67 carries last year (8.2 YPC), should put up huge numbers with White (1,744 yards, 15 TD) now in NFL.
Clement is a high-ranking freshman running back for Wisconsin, and he figures to have some huge games in 2013. For 2012, though, he's third behind James White and Melvin Gordon on the depth chart.
