The loss of legendary coach Chris Ault is a concern for Fajardo's fantasy value, because the pistol offense that made Fajardo such a great fantasy asset could be subject to some schematic change, not to mention less competent coaching. The good news is that his 2012 offensive coordinator, Nick Rolovich, will remain with the team, and it's encouraging that Rolovich had Ault's blessing a year ago. But it's possible that Ault's exit will leave Rolovich with the itch to call a more pass-oriented offense – he was Hawaii's offensive coordinator and quarterback coach prior to joining Nevada – and such a change could make it difficult for Fajardo to pile up 1,121 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground again in 2013.

Fajardo was predictably a bit up-and-down as a true freshman in 2011, but in general he was extremely promising, especially from a fantasy standpoint. Although he threw as many interceptions as touchdowns (six), he ran for 694 yards (5.4 YPC) and 11 scores despite sitting out or serving as backup in six games. He had a strong spring and should improve in 2012, but his rushing production alone made him a top fantasy quarterback in 2011. Even if he doesn't improve, he should still be one of the best.
