Will transfer from Rutgers
Laviano will graduate and transfer from Rutgers, Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Laviano will transfer along with fellow quarterbacks Mike Dare and Hayden Rettig, and being a graduate transfer, Laviano will be eligible to play immediately wherever he decides to go. Laviano started 18 consecutive games dating back to last season before being benched in favor of Gio Rescigno in October. The departure of the three quarterbacks will leave Rescigno to fight for the starting job with Zach Allen.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Laviano took the reins last season after the Gary Nova era ended at Rutgers and it was a bumpy ride most of the way. The Scarlet Knights went 4-8 with Laviano under center and there were several points during the season where fans clamored for a change at quarterback. Although Laviano never relinquished the job to Hayden Rettig, a change could be coming this fall with Rutgers installing a new offense under a new head coach and offensive coordinator. OC Drew Mehringer is installing a warp-speed tempo offense that isn’t a natural fit for Laviano’s skill set. With that, Laviano will need to adapt and be a quick study in order to beat out TCU transfer Zach Allen, who has the athleticism and upside that could win over a new coaching staff.
