Winovich is set to have surgery on his thumb, Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News reports.

Winovich apparently suffered the injury, in which his tendon was pulled from the bone, during Michigan's game against Ohio State on November 24th. He'll have ample time to recover over the summer and should be ready for the start of the 2019 season, on August 31st against Middle Tennessee State.
