September 2, 2012
Battles, along with backup guard Lawrence Martin, was suspended for the opener against Chattanooga, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
ANALYSIS
Battles also suffered an ankle injury in camp two weeks ago, so he was unlikely to play in the opener in any case. The good news is that if he can get healthy and stay on the straight and narrow, the 5-9 junior can move up the depth chart with Lindsey Lamar redshirting.

2010 Fantasy Outlook
Battles is a very good supersleeper at running back in the Big East. It wouldn't be a bit surprising if he emerged as the top running back at South Florida by the end of the year, though a running back committee seems likely for the most part. Battles offers more elusiveness and big-play ability than the team's other options, and he's worth a gamble pick in the later rounds in Big East-only leagues.
