Alex Padilla

ANALYSIS
After a four-year run at Iowa, Padilla is opting to head to SMU ahead of his redshirt senior season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback will have up to two years of eligibility to use and could get the chance to compete for the starting job at SMU this fall with incumbent Tanner Mordecai having transferred to Wisconsin over the offseason. During his time with the Hawkeyes, Padilla appeared in 13 games (three starts) and completed 77 of 157 pass attempts (49 percent) for 821 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions while adding a touchdown on the ground.
