2015 Fantasy Outlook
Penn State’s ineptitude in the running game last season can’t all be placed on Lynch’s shoulders. The entire Nittany Lions’ offense had some growing pains in 2014 under new head coach James Franklin, and an inexperienced o-line was unable to open any holes for the running backs. The pass-oriented playcalling and Bill Belton’s hold on the starting RB job limited Lynch’s opportunities last season, but Belton has moved on from the program and Penn State should have a more balanced approach this season. Lynch should get the bulk of the carries this year and with that, an increase in production across the board, from boost in YPC to better yardage and touchdown totals. Christian Hackenberg’s presence at quarterback likely means that Lynch won’t be your typical Big Ten workhorse back, but he should still be able cobble together a productive season and establish himself as a conference standout.
