Nabs first career TD
Beyer snared two of his three targets for 37 yards and a touchdown Saturday versus Illinois.
ANALYSIS
Beyer has clearly fallen behind sophomore Sam LaPorta in the pecking order for targets at the tight end spot but has seen the field a decent amount given the Hawkeyes' proclivity to run a lot of two-tight end formations. The senior hasn' finished with more than two grabs in a contest this season, so it's unlikely a breakout is forthcoming next week versus a Wisconsin defense that checks in best in the nation in terms of passing yards per game allowed. After that, the question will become whether or not Beyer will return for 2021.
