Nathan Scheelhaase

After showing some promise during his first two seasons as a starter, the dual-threat Scheelhaase took a dramatic step back in his development during his junior campaign. While he wasn't helped by a porous offensive line nor an ankle injury that cost him two games, Scheelhaase nonetheless posted an awful four touchdowns against eight interceptions and averaged a career-low 2.4 yards per carry. As a result of his poor performance, Scheelhaase briefly lost snaps to Reilly O'Toole before wresting the job away by the end of the season. With a new offensive coordinator in Bill Cubit aboard, the two will again compete again for the job, though Scheelhaase seems to be the heavy frontrunner after looking solid under center and in the shotgun during the spring.
