Past Fantasy Outlooks
2013
2012
Although the presence of the highly promising duo of Bri'onte Dunn and Warren Ball is a concern for Hyde's job security, it generally seems as if the big back has a strong hold of the starting job, and with it he should receive about 16 carries per game and nearly all of the team's goal-line carries. Hyde was extremely productive in the second half of 2012, scoring 14 rushing touchdowns in the final seven games of the year, and he should be similarly dominant in the red zone as Ohio State's Braxton Miller-led offense remains one of the best in the country.
The arrival of coach Urban Meyer's speed-oriented spread scheme is bad news for the big, bruising Hyde, but he's still too good of a runner to disappear completely from the Ohio State offense. He ran for 566 yards and six touchdowns on just 106 carries last year (5.3 YPC), so Hyde might at least establish himself as the team's goal-line back. He'll in any case remain worth owning in Big Ten-only leagues.
