As long as he can resist publically bashing his coach, Payne should be able to post some decent numbers again in 2011. It'd certainly help if he had a better quarterback, but as it stands, his talent level exceeds the average MWC opponent enough for him to make an impact in MWC-only leagues. He's worth monitoring in other scenarios, too.

Payne began training camp with his right foot in a walking boot, the Las Vegas Sun reports. "He hurt his foot this summer, and the status you would say is day-to-day. It's going to be a week or more, though, before he's out there," head coach Bobby Hauck said. "We've got to see how it goes and we'll have to bring him along as fast as we can. The honest answer is we don't know. We wish we did."
