Matthew McGloin

McGloin got the majority of playing time at quarterback for the Nittany Lions last season and enters this season as the likely starting quarterback. His numbers last season were far from dominant, as he completed only 54.1 percent of his passes and averaged 6.8 yards per attempt. His touchdowns (eight) and interceptions (five) were not awful, but McGloin will prove to be no more than mediocre if he doesn't improve. Rob Bolden also got some playing time as a sophomore last season, but seriously struggled, completing only 39.3 percent of his passes in 135 attempts. For now, the starting job looks like it belongs to McGloin, but that could change if the senior struggles deep into the season.
