2024 Rush/Rec Projections
Elliott, one of several backups for Anthony Dixon last season, tells NEMS360.com that he feels ready to take on the lead role in the MSU backfield in 2010.
ANALYSIS
Elliott hasn't had an easy go of it in Starksville, having an inconsistent freshman season, then suffering a season-ending knee injury in the fifth game of 2008. Still, says second-year running backs coach Greg Know, "Just watching [Elliot], his leadership, his attitude on the field, off the field, in the meeting rooms, I think he realizes that, 'This is my opportunity now. If it's going to happen for me, it needs to happen now.'" That maturation in thinking, along with working on being an all-around type of back in the off-season, should help Elliott greatly heading into fall camps, especially with his competition being Vick Ballard, a junior college transfer, and Montrell Conner and LaDarius Perkins, both redshirt freshmen.

2010 Fantasy Outlook
Elliott hasn't done much the past two years, but the former top-10 running back recruit has the power game that makes him a natural fit for Anthony Dixon's former spot in the offense. Look for Elliott to make the most of his opportunity, though he'll have to hold off his talented understudy in Vick Ballard. Elliott could turn out to be a good value pick in all formats, and should be a good RB2 in SEC-only leagues.
