2024 Receiving Projections
Smith, a first-team All-Big Ten selection at wide receiver in 2009, has been denied a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, ending his collegiate career, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Smith applied for a sixth year of eligibility in November after tearing two knee ligaments in Purdue's second game of 2010 against Western Illinois. Commented head coach Danny Hope on the denial of that request by the NCAA, "The entire Purdue football family is very disappointed for Keith. We're not only losing one of the top wide receivers in the Big Ten, but one of the top leaders on our team. We will do everything we can to help Keith continue his football career and get his Purdue degree."
