2024 Receiving Projections
Nichol, he spent time at backup quarterback last season until the Alamo Bowl in which he lined up at wideout, is currently listed as the top X receiver for the Michigan State Spartans heading into spring, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nichol's move to a permanent spot at wideout was forced by the potential lack of depth at the position due to the absence (until recently) of B.J. Cunningham and Mark Dell, as well as the development of sophomore quarterback Andrew Maxwell. Still, head coach Mark Dantonio expresses he feels Nichol will develop into quite a pass-catching weapon, playing at receiver "70 to 80 percent of the time . . . "

2010 Fantasy Outlook
After eventually losing the quarterback battle to Kirk Cousins last season, Nichol was eventually moved to wide receiver for the Alamo Bowl. Nichol did not have a big game, but he showed enough promise for the coaching staff to move him to receiver permanently in 2010. Nichol has shown natural receiving ability and will likely enter the season as a starter. Quarterback Kirk Cousins has shown the ablity to move the ball through the air, so Nichol could be surprisingly effective in his new role.
