Continues to impress in first-team offense
Pabico, who has been taking first-team reps during camp, has been given praises by coaching staff and players alike for his skill and work ethic, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Though a former walk-on who has never caught a ball for UCLA, Pabico began working with the first-team offense during the week of Aug. 6 and has impressed ever since. Coach Jim Mora, when asked about what he likes about Pabico, praised his work ethic, attitude and attention to detail before settling for "everything". The redshirt junior has even earned respect from fellow teammates on the defensive side of the ball after top-shelf route-running. Cornerback Darnay Holmes said of Pabico, "He's not a walk-on in my eyes. He's definitely a ballplayer." Coach Mora added, "He has certainly worked his way into the discussion [of joining the starting lineup for the season opener]."
