Duffey will head back into the NCAA's transfer portal after being denied admission to Central Michigan, Evan Petzold of CM-life.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After deciding to leave Texas Tech earlier in the offseason, Duffey committed to join Tulane as a graduate transfer for his final year of eligibility in 2020, but he was unable to gain admission into the school. The quarterback looked to have met the necessary academic requirements for Central Michigan, but upon further review, the he ultimately wasn't allowed to enroll at the school. Assuming Duffey can gain admittance somewhere outside of the Power Five ranks, he should have a good chance to open the 2020 season in a starting role. While with the Red Raiders last fall, Duffey threw for 2,840 yards and 18 touchdowns against five interceptions while adding 212 yards and another score on the ground.
